    That’s quite the downside for a difference of opinion but if your friend is set on sticking it to Elon they can check out the bz4x, bolt , ex30, ID 4. There are plenty of options - compromises vary from charging challenges to poor software but at least they’ll trade one CEO for another.

    but my 2 cents for a tight budget is this:

    buy right now = MG4 or BYD Atto 3 (UK/EU)

    or wait a little while = Volvo EX30 (UK/EU)

    any electric bicycles, as for cars, there are MG4, bolt, kona, neta, xpeng, citroen, etc

    hyundai/kia lower priced cars are coming in 2025/2026 with IMV platform and LFP batttery
