Let’s all get behind Eddie tonight. He put a lot of people on the end of their rope after the spurs and City games, but that Sheffield United game was just wonderful.
Here’s to hoping he continues his redemption arc and proves everyone (including myself) wrong
Feels like forever since we’ve been televised in the carling cup
I didn’t watch the brighton one last season so maybe that was but feel like I always have to seek out a stream for these games. Having to watch a twitter live from someone at the game when we played Wimbledon was an experience
God I miss Jurrien. He was absolutely incredible for the first few matches. :(
When people say we are worse than last season, they take last season to mean the period before the world cup, and just ignore everything that came after (the majority of the season) which they treat as an anomaly.
As far as I’m concerned, in all the relevant numbers - points per match, goal difference per 90, and even expected goal difference per 90 - we are better than last season.
Question: What are your thoughts on feeder clubs in general? The reason why I ask this is that I wonder if you could save a club that experienced financial crisis like Southend or Scunthorpe using that model
Really hope Ramsdale has a good game tonight
How loud was the boos for Rice last night from the West Ham fans? Fair enough for making their opinions clear this early on.
I wonder if it was Man City, im sure the West Ham fans would be doing ole’s on every Rice touch.
We need a midfielder much more than we need a striker in January
Partey’s absence has really hurt the club this early, would gladly move on from him.
Hi Saudi Arabia, whats up?..
For the third goal, you can see the other defensive part of the game Havertz needs to work on - zero awareness to pick up Bowen who was unmarked at the edge of the box.
Still, their third goal feels similar to the second goal we conceded Lens. Then it was Rice allowing space to open up between him and our defenders allowing the Lens attacker to just slow down to make room to receive the ball.
Don’t care if people call the carabao cup mickey mouse or tinpot trophy, I’d like to see us win it for once.
Finally just seen the first half but that was a pretty good performance by our second team. Can’t really blame them too much for the lack of final ball since even our best players are having trouble with that. For all the complaining about the midfield, West Ham didn’t threaten us too much. On the other hand, it’s worrying how much luck teams are having in scoring against us.
The moment that changed the fate of football
Any chance John Jules comes good? I only remembered we still have him cuz of a new fifa career mode save lol. I know this Edwards guy in our academy is supposed to be phenomenal. I’m just trying to figure out if maybe Arteta moved on from Balogun because we have some riches coming in at CF.
Slim to none, injuries have wrecked him.
The academy had nothing to do with why we sold Balogun. Sometimes you have to sell players, can’t keep them all
Anyone see that tracking back by Havertz today? One of our best players today although that’s a relatively low bar I think he really adds to the team when it comes to hard work and defending from the front. Was useful in keeping posession in the game against Sheffield Utd with his aerial presence. It’s easy to see why he was in demand from the likes of Bayern and Madrid in the summer. Sure people can believe he should be doing more for the price we paid for him but he’s far from the finished product. He just needs time
Ramsdale is gonna have a good game today and until the Newcaslte game twitter and reddit is gonna be filled with a lot of Raya v Ramsdale debates.
