  • I’m not sure if I can think of any clubs with a similar situation. I think chelsea are a good example cuz when they had their transfer ban they used the time to use their youth, and once they could spend again they at the very least shopped their young talents. We started calling on our youth towards the end of Emery’s tenure and from that period we came out with Saka and Martinelli as stars, ESR who looked a star but will not demand a hefty fee, Nketiah who probably would’ve demanded a better fee if we sold him after his loan at Leeds, and Nelson who we just extended for seemingly no reason. Willock is the only player who’s market we took advantage of.

Maybe post-Messi Barca? Sold Trincao, Nico Gonzalez, abde ezzalzouie, Junior firpo as far as their youth goes. managed to get a fee for Aubameyang, sold kessie for a decent amount, sold Griezmann, sold a part time player in Ousmane for 50m. Sold Emerson royal to spurs within a 12 month span of buying him for an 11 million profit. Granted they have their financial issues but they still managed to win the league last season.

  • 60m for Havertz who hasn’t hit the ground running. 60m for Mason Mount who looks shit. 30m for aging Kovacic. 20m for Pulisic who was shit for them last year. That’s just this year. Last year their outgoings were kinda shit. Year before that, however, 40m for an uninspiring Tammy Abraham, 35m for Kurt Zouma, combined 50m for unknown products in Guehi and Tomori.

Compared to us : balo for 30m and 15m for Xhaka which I’ll say both are good business. However, 11m for Guendouzi (frozen out), 6m for Torreira(nut job), 4m for Leno, 4m for Mavropanos, ONE SINGULAR SALE in 21/22 of Willock for 30m is also good business.

The thing is though, I listed almost all of our sales(bar the Americans and Mari). Chelsea had more sales than what I listed.

I think we’re too scared to sell to top clubs. No coincidence that our biggest fees in recent years (balo as an exception) were Ox to Liverpool, Iwobi to Ancelotti’s Everton, and Willock to a newly taken over Newcastle.

  • How long until Ramsdale is training on his own? The potential most valuable goal keeper in the world because of age, experience, etc is going to be sold for nothing because that is how the Arteta do. We sold Leno for what? 6m? Now he remains one of the best keepers in the league (if Fulham could sort out their defense. Tierney? Maitland Niles leaving for free is embarrassing. Arteta seems to be a decent man manager but if you aren’t in his first 13 or 14 players it seems you’re left in the cold, regardless of how much we want to cream our jorts over our Makes me wonder what happens to these guys if we do bring in a striker, winger, etc. Isk how much value Nketiah has but if he has any and we buy Toney or Osimhen, he needs to be sold asap otherwise we’re gonna get 4m for him after paying him 100k a week for the last two years. Nelson, Smith Rowe, etc. We’ll likely take a loss on Fabio and Kiwior if they don’t see game time. Say what you want about chelsea, they know when to sell their players. I don’t think we’re there yet.

  • So… if Saliba’s “handball” was a penalty, shouldn’t there have been a card shown? US broadcasters said that VAR told the ref that Mudryk’s header was heading on target, it wasn’t, but if that were the case shouldn’t that be a red card? I feel like they gave the penalty just to give the penalty. I’ve never been one to be stirred up by poor reffing decisions but with the Kovacic situation and now this last game that should’ve, imo, warranted at least one red card, I can’t help but feel genuinely pissed off.
