Leaders of the tax-writing committees in the House and Senate are working on a deal to expand the existing child tax credit in exchange for extending certain business tax credits

But seriously when this credit was active, it alone cut child poverty by a third. Imagine what we could get with a true universal basic income. A good first step at least though.

Sweet. Now, extend that to, “Makes X% or less of the median income for a person’s resident county.” Or better yet, both.

Call it the Universal Basic Tax Credit.

Biden admin is getting desperate to appear to be doing something positive I think. I doubt this would be getting revived if it weren’t for all the public blowback from Biden’s unchecked support for the Israeli right-wing.
