I’m getting tired of the media saying we are going to suck this year. I’m not saying we are championship contenders, but with Wemby on our team I think the Spurs can really push for a play-in spot. Whose to say this team can’t go on a win streak? Keldon and Devin are proven scorers at this level, Wemby has shown he will average 15-18 a game and provide 3-5 blocks and we have a solid bench with Osman, McDermott, Bassey. We can hang with most teams as we saw with the Mavs and Suns (albeit injured Suns). I think we have everything it takes to make the playoffs 7-10 seed.
After the preseason quite a number of talking heads put us in the play-in conversation. IMO that’s where we belong. We’re off to a solid 2-2 start with our losses coming to an expected top 4 team in the West and a team that’s currently undefeated. The rest of the season will be a tug of war between wear and tear on young unseasoned players and their continued development, and I think we’ll end up finishing not too far below .500.
