We should consider rebuilding again while we can get a few picks for Haliburton
Let me clarify
Haliburton is a GOOD player. No one is arguing he’s not a GOOD player He’s even an all star
But It’s worth questioning if he can jump to superstar tier because you need a superstar AND an all star.
He definitely seems good enough to keep you from drafting a superstar too.
No one wants to be stuck in the middle, but you have to wonder if it’s worth keeping good players with no path to getting a first team all NBA type player you need to compete
I think Bennedict Mathurin isn’t as good as most people think he is and I think Buddy should be starting still. I feel like his bag isn’t particularly deep. He eurosteps 90% of the time in the open court and can’t really shoot all that well either. I know this sub loves him and I definitely get it, I just think he may be another season or two away from being a starter. I do really like the improvements he has made as a playmaker though. He is definitely reading defenses better
I don’t get this take
Even if he isn’t as good as everyone thinks, Buddy is 30 years old in the last year of his contract.
So he won’t be here
You’d start either Nembhard (because let’s be honest, he isn’t a good PG) or Neismith.
Definitely not Buddy It’s likely his last year here and the team isn’t winning anything this year
That sucking for another season would be a good thing.
