I’m looking for a good NBA podcast or show to watch/listen.
Sidenote: most of the podcasts I have listened to were very shallow, filled with hot takes to provoke or only focused on the star players. I’m actually looking for a show that does a deeper analysis, like young players to watch (rookie or prospects from college/europe), coaches and their decisions or tactics, etc…
Thank you for the suggestions.
The Old Man & the Three
Gane Theory Podcast is great
Duncan On if you’re a numbers nerd
Dunker’s Spot might be what you’re after.
Thinking basketball is definitely the most intelligent NBA podcast I’ve heard. I also enjoy some of the shows on the Ringer NBA Show feed (I mainly like Group Chat and The Answer) as well as The Mismatch. If you’re interested in upcoming NBA players, The Ringer’s NBA Draft Show is really good too.
Gils Arena or Pat Bev’s podcast
On the Athletic NBA feed, there’s a weekly (Friday) show called the Slam and Jam that is reliably great. The two hosts are very level-headed and thoughtful, and they pay attention to the whole league (even though they love their hometown Thunder). Plus, they’re old friends, and the overall vibe of the show is very friendly and pleasant. Each week they have a guest who’s usually a beat writer for one team, so they’ll go into depth on that one team.
No dunks, the Lowe post, the ringers got a few shows, the athletic nba show
Down to Dunk is a great podcast feature Andrew Schlecht from The Athletic which specifically covers the Thunder. The Monday and Wendesday pods are especially good with some nuanced discussion - Friday is more goofy, but enjoyable if you get into it.
