Messaging from the Pacers (sideline guys) other Pacers media, and Pacers organization members, is that we have one of if not the best PG depth in the league. And at face value I believe them, TJ as a third stringer and Nembhard off the bench seems amazing, especially with Rese heading the show.

But depth is more than just good bench play, it’s good replacement play as well. When Tyrese misses a game we look like one of the worst team in the league (has held for a full season and now going into a second season).

Missing your best player is hard for any team, but again the claim is best or among the best PG depth. If that’s the case I would expect better results when replacing the starter.

Is the system too dependent on Tyrese for our team to have success when he misses? Are we overrating our PG depth?

Something to watch for as the season moves forward.
