Going to be honest here, I think Raya could intentionally throw the ball into his own net four-times-a-game for the remainder of the season and I still don’t think Arteta would let Ramsdale play.

I’ll keep saying it. Mudryk goal was a fluke - not an error.

The more noticeable error was Raya giving it straight to Palmer in the 2nd half where luckily nothing came from it

Raya is going to keep making those mistakes because his short distribution is not as good as Ramsdale’s. We’ve traded a long distribution problem for a short distribution problem, but I think Arteta figures that Raya’s shot stopping and defending from set pieces will make up for that.

Personally I think Ramsdale was good at defending set pieces until the World Cup when he broke his knuckle and you could see that he couldn’t punch the ball and was hesitating a lot, and as a shot stopper Ramsdale might not be the best but we’ll experience less shots if we’re more comfortable playing out from the back and retaining possession that way. His long distribution was also better when he first joined, I don’t know why he became inconsistent but if he can get that back I think he can earn his place back. What Raya lacks I don’t think he can ever learn - you either know how to pick out the best pass or you don’t, that comes from Ramsdale’s time as a midfielder which Raya will never have.

Anyone blaming Raya for the Mudryk goal is either a moron or has an agenda.
