I got a 2023 turbo CX5 top of line. They advertised the average mpg is between 24 city 27 highway. I drive to work everyday and the route is 95% highway, average speed of 55mph and I’m hitting on average 21.5 mpg within 8,700 miles.

Does anyone else have the same issue? Or would y’all say I have a faulty car? Tks

The first couple of tanks suck for some reason. I started with 21-23 mpg. Give it good gas and let it learn. I’m getting 25-34 mpg depending on route. 2023 Turbo.

I drive like an asshole in my CX-50 turbo. Like, I’m usually doing 90-110mph in the early mornings. Lately with the winter blend, I’m averaging around 18-19mpg highway. In the evenings, I’m going with traffic 65-85mph and I’m averaging like 26-27mpg. Overall, I’m getting 23-24mpg.

If your route is 95% highway average 55mph, there is no way it’s that bad unless you left your car in sport mode or something. Like… sometimes I go for long drives to put the baby to sleep, and if i’m on the highway cruising at 55-60mph, I get 31-32mpg.

        You could.

Run a radar detector, laser jammer, Waze for backup, company sponsored lawyer service on retainer, know the techniques for leap frogging and letting the person a mile down the road trigger any speed traps, mind your tire conditions and pressure, get a job with an early shift so you leave when no one else is on the road, and have a very very understanding wife.

But… that still doesn’t explain your terrible gas mileage. Have you tried going out on a weekend, find a long stretch of interstate, and set the cruise control at exactly 65mph for 1 hour, to see what your MPG’s are?

Hehehe damn, I just need to change my entire life, but would be worth it! And no, I’ll have my first long trip on the 19th and will check the mileage after that
