is that a good thing or a bad thing
I think this is a bad idea, instead of chasing what you are not, you need to emphasize what you are.
Pay thinking basketball the money they deserve and in a bigger role
So he wants no one outside of America care about the league?
This guy is a fool
Well, he achieved it. Refs are a joke.
Dear god….
Oh like actual analysis, rather than 4 idiots yelling at each other for an hour?
Might be a little easier if there werent almost 5x as many games
Won’t ever happen. Too many trash thugs and trash chick analysts cover the sport now.
He’s so worried about color commentary, how about end local blackouts if you have league pass so I can actually watch my favorite team.
Silver is right. Also I highly recommend everyone on here listen to that Old man and the 3 pod interview he did. Honestly pretty safe interview but still incredibly insightful.
Step 1: Clean up the refs
Step 2: Protect the fans (i.e. stop teams from tanking & players from disrupting seasons for contract/trade demands)
Step 3: Take away a time out from each half and convert normal commercial breaks into split-screen ads
Step 4: Set a high minimum requirement for in-season coverage time during cumulative highlight/reporting/commentary shows (total, morning, and primetime) for media outlets that license highlight clips (25%+ during regular season, 40%+ during postseason)
Step 5: Push/subsidize more substantial endorsements (both timewise and brandwise) for the top players, especially those that overperform on the court but don’t do a lot of ads
You mean acknowledging that there are more than 5 teams in the league?
how much time does NBA give to the commentators to draw up Xs and Ox in the screen? Fees like NFL gives more time between plays to make that happen.
