Alright I’m loosing my mind here. I’m looking for an EV to replace my 2010 Subaru Forrester for something under 30k after incentivies. After way too many test drives I settled on the following list in order of preference. [Side note - I love the Model Y, but I’m not paying 40k for a car. Nuh-uh]
- 2020-2021 Kona EV Ultimate
- 2022-2023 Bolt EUV LT
- Anything else. The Niro is probably next up if I had to pick.
The problem is both the Bolt and Kona have major reliability concerns through Consumer Reports.
My question to the sub is am I crazy and I should stop and get an ICE car for a few years? I really don’t want to but the idea of avoiding gigantic maintenance bomb drops that come with ICE cars by going electric is starting to fade.
The Model 3 is close to $30k with incentives. Granted it doesn’t have as much cargo capacity as a Forrester.
