Hey, guys!

To preface, I know nothing about football and have never played Fantasy before this year. I autodrafted until round 4 and am playing in a league of 10 players who are die-hard football fans.

What I am is a scientist, and I decided to try and use my cursory knowledge of data analytics and statistics to dig myself out of the hole I was in with math. The following is the culmination of 9 weeks’ worth of research into how to evaluate trades to add value to the team.

I wanted to share this with all of you to see what you thought about it! I can explain it further if people need more than just the formula. Let me know what you think!

From a mathematical standpoint I think this does well to produce a value but it will lack some of the context that is used in assessing player values.

Team strength, Bye weeks passed / yet to come, career arc projection relative to rookie / aging veteran etc…

I think that you could potentially represent bye weeks passed / yet to come with a linear value but that it would be difficult to do so with some other points that are typically baked into market values.
