The Eagles traded Terrell Edmunds (a below replacement level safety) a 5th, and a 6th for Kevin Byard, who has similar value to Simmons. So just a 5th round pick would be too little, but it’s not like he’d be worth significantly more. Though I don’t think a trade would have been a good idea, the value he brings to the franchise is absolutely worth more than a 4th rounder.
Simmons hits way harder than anyone as lanky as him should be able to. Can’t believe people here were trying to sell him.
