I think Denver matches up well, being on the road makes it tougher. The Texans skill players are massively outplaying expectations, but Denver has the secondary to win that match up. OL wise they’re very beatable, Tunsil is very good and Mason is another good player but otherwise I think we should be able to get some good pressure. I think with our varied coverages and pressure looks we have the defense to cause Stroud to have one of his rookie games. Their run game is fairly weak which is huge for Denver. We’re the best secondary they’ve faced yet, and they’ve had lower outputs against some good secondaries like the Saints, Falcons

They have some pass rushers, but their defense is the weakest we’ve faced in months. Probably since the Bears game. If the team can continue to success on the ground game that’ll be huge, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is one of the most productive games for the passing O so far.

Of course these things never play out as expected so I guess we’ll see lol

  • Undersized + not great speed. Even when comparing him to CHJ, who otherwise fits a very similar, McMillian has 29" arms. CHJ had very long arms for his build, 33", which is a big part of the reason why he could exceed playing on the boundary. Not sure if McMillian will be able to have the same success as a boundary corner, but I’d be glad to be proven wrong.

What McMillian does have though - lateral agility, toughness, football IQ - makes him the ideal slot corner.

  • 5 weeks ago people were saying we had to trade guys like Surtain, Bolles, Simmons because they’ve only been apart of losing cultures and you can’t establish a winning team with players like that

People are insane man. I don’t know how you can be a fan of this sport and believe in some of the narratives these guys believe in. Things can change in the blink of the eye in the NFL - it never takes 5 years to build a team in the NFL, especially when you have a coach like Payton

When people were talking about draft position I said if the Broncos were going to be a good team in the near future it wasn’t going to be because of draft stock, it’s going to be because Sean Payton is a top tier HC, and I’ll stand by that

I’m not gonna lie and pretend I understand our cap situation this off season, but I’d love to see Sutton and Jeudy next year along with a rookie WR like Nabers (provided he’s the best value where we pick). Throw in some development from Mims and the WR corps is looking good.

  • The Eagles traded Terrell Edmunds (a below replacement level safety) a 5th, and a 6th for Kevin Byard, who has similar value to Simmons. So just a 5th round pick would be too little, but it’s not like he’d be worth significantly more. Though I don’t think a trade would have been a good idea, the value he brings to the franchise is absolutely worth more than a 4th rounder.

  • Can’t get over how well Ja’Quan McMillian has been playing since he entered the line up and yesterday felt like his arrival to the spotlight. Just an elite, dominating performance. It takes an entire defensive effort to hold the Chiefs to 0 TDs but McMillian was the best player on the defense yesterday.

It’s technically McMillian’s 2nd season, but he reminds me a lot of rookie CHJ. Undersized slot CB who plays physical and way bigger than his size, high football IQ, extremely confident, and just a really scrappy player who epitomizes got that dawg in him.

I’m prepared to be hurt and expecting the team to come out flat against the Bills but if we manage to beat the Bills or honestly even just play a really competitive game I’m taking the hype train to the moon. I feel like this is the 4th strong showing in a row by the defense. VJ has them playing well right now, there’s so many guys I can talk about but it feels like it’s really coming together on that side of the ball.
