I’ve actually noticed this trend among the immortal players I interact with with either in game or on discord, there’s generally a linear relationship with their rank and how much emo shit they have in their name/profile
There are plenty of low ranks with the same “dead inside” shit

There’s a huge difference in names between Crusaders and Legends alone. Nothing new here, for me at least.
Dota players has that sort of emo nickname syndrome especially becoming more and more prominent as you go higher in ranks, which I haven’t seen in any other competitive game so far.
Not every one of them seem necessarily emo shit but recognition they are still shit and are all always improving, like the adage “the more you know the more humble you become”

It’s funny cuz sometimes when I play casual I get matches with Immortals even tho I’m just Legend V and every time they have these cringe depressing names.
The higher MMR you get more emo you get too.
