Panthers (1-7) vs. Bears(2-7) is tonight on TNF. Some notable names, Fields and Edmunds are out for Chicago. Brian Burns is out for Carolina.
The Bears, as we know, own the 1st round pick of the Panthers. So who do we want to win tonight?
MFing Bears better get the ball to Cole Kmet, my fantasy squad needs him to show up.
Either a tie or Carolina winning would be the best options so that the Bears have worse picks.
I am rooting for a Chicago victory.
Why?
Well, because I think they will win.
And also, Chicago has the tougher schedule moving forward. They are more likely to lose in the future, so let them grab a win now to move them away from #1.
The bears have incentive to tank. Panthers do not.
But really well cares. We’re not draft pick watching anymore. Thank the fucking lord and savior Brad Holmes.
Imagine the conundrum.
A) Bears beat Panthers, making the Panthers record worse while going to 3-7 and driving themselves out of the top 5 only getting either 1 or 2 in the draft. Arizona still #1, Panthers #2, NE #3, Giants #4, Rams #5, Bears #6.
B) Panthers beat Bears, increasing Panthers record to 2-7 and getting them out of top pick contention to Arizona, allowing NE to pass them to #2, but sealing up 3 and 4 in the draft.
Either way it doesn’t matter because their GM is an absolute idiot and will blow the draft anyways.
Panthers Kobykobayashi maru game. There’s no way for them to win.
Beat the bears and increase bears draft spot.
Lose to the bears and increase their draft spot which the bears own.
Tie and it maintains both draft positions that the bears have.
We want the bears! Fields is still a gem on a terrible team.
Well I’m forced to start DJ Moore and Khalil Herbert in fantasy so I hope it’s a close 42-41 game
Edit: nevermind Herbert isn’t playing … FUCK
We always want our division foes to lose
I’m watching for the chance Bryce Young has a Stafford 2009 moment and leads the Panthers to a glorious victory in an otherwise meaningless season
With how feckless the Carolina offense is looking this game, the fact that they dropped 14 on us is a bad look for our defense.
Also, I really hated that graphic of the Bears having two of the top three picks. Don’t care for that.
