I went to Midas with an oil change coupon and they wanted $150 for an oil change still. I obviously said no, but if you guys have every paid a professional for a simple oil change how much was it? & for context im a early 20s gal with a 3 series. This is my first time actually paying someone as one of my friends is really good with bmw maintenance but lives far away. Should I take my bf to the shop instead or is that just accurate pricing for BMW???

Go to an indy shop that specializes in BMW’s/Germans to get your oil change done or do it yourself, usually super simple and can be done within 1-2 hours.

Please don’t take your BMW to be serviced at those chain quick oil change places.

As others have said don’t go to a place like Midas. I wouldn’t trust them to put gas in my lawnmower. I get coupons all the time from the dealer for $100 oil changes. I do 99% of my own maintenance so I haven’t paid for an oil change in at least 25 years.

If you live in a place with multiple dealers shop around or find a Euro Shop, much better than Midas or Jiffy lube.

I take my Z4 to either my guys around the corner for $60, or the dealership for $99. I’ve never paid $150 for an oil change with any of my vehicles, regardless of brand.

I took mine to the dealer. It was $100. I’ve only owned mine for 5 months. So I’m still new to the bmw space.
