I currently own a 2011 BMW X5, a mechanic notified me that my right rear suspension shock is rusted and leaking. I currently am 18 and still putting the money together is it still safe to drive to and back from school and work?

Id say so, you could have a completely blown shock and still drive, just would be bouncy as all hell. Thing is, a common mechanic scam is saying your shocks are bad and them squirting oil on them saying its leaking. If it isnt super bouncy or it doesnt leak more oil thats a possibility.
