Lamar is only 52 rushing yards away from passing Randall Cunningham for career QB rushing yards. That would move him to #4 all time behind Russ, Cam, and Vick. In addition, Russ is only 290 yards ahead of Lamar rn - the potential is very real that Lamar moves into the top 3 by the end of the season. Cam is 751ahead, which means he probably won’t get it this season, but he’s on track to probably hit by end of next. Finally, Vick is 1,232 yards up on Lamar, so that one will probably get broken sometime between the middle and end of the 2025 season.

Also worth nothing that if Lamar breaks Cunninghams record Sunday, he will have done so in 81 less games played

All you good motherfuckers prob don’t remember Cunningham, so let me tell it to you straight. That dude was doing that before it was okay to do it. If he played today, NOBODY would ever touch his rushing records. He was the real deal.

Similar shout out to HOF QB Warren Moon who needed to spend his first 6 prime years in Canada, winning 5 straight championships - all cause he was a black QB. This dude ended up throwing for 70,000+ yards - and wasn’t even fucking drafted after winning MVP and upsetting Michigan in the Rose bowl.

What’s amazing is it took until 2019 for a nfl team to be team built around a running QB’s skills set. Imagine the numbers these boys would have put up if they played in an offense that catered to them.

Cunningham would be a lock for the HOF if he was playing today and honestly should still be in anyway, the way he went from being the most dominant rushing QB of his day with the Eagles to utilizing his arm to throw dimes to Moss and Carter and dominate with Minnesota *after being retired for a year or two* is an incredible feat
