  • Dobbs is actually very good for what he is - a backup. Yes, that means he isn’t good for a starter - but he isn’t a starter, and this organization did not give up any starter-level capital to have him.

Meanwhile, he’s a great a dude, by all counts a great person to have in your organization, and he has a great story. I’m proud of the way he fought and at least his last play yesterday was a nice TD strike after a good drive.

He was a really nice story and quite frankly I like him as a person, and I always root for the Vikings. So I will continue to root for him and I don’t really mind the bad because it’s not like there are any expectations on him. It would be a different story if he was paid big money, or the Vikings gave up good draft capital for him, or he was drafted in the first round. But he’s not. He’s a career backup who has been given a chance and I’ll root for him happily because good or bad, he’s a Viking, and my expectations for the season went out the door when Kirk got hurt anyway.

  • Yeah, we get it.

The guy is a backup. We have seen his ceiling, and now his floor. He’s still a decent QB for what he is (a backup) and a great guy to have in the organization.

I get that these losses are frustrating, but really why is it that this sub is tearing into this guy when we all knew that this season was a crap shoot the moment Kirk went down?

If Dobbs was being paid big bucks, or he was drafted to be the QBOTF, then I’d get the hate, but geez. The dude is just playing ball with what opportunity has been granted by the universe.

  • The offense is alarming at this point. It’s not just last night, they have been prone to long periods of stagnation in most games this year. They have scored many points off of short fields granted by the defense this year. The defense looks to be in playoff form already, offense needs to catch up or we aren’t going very far.

We should be able to sustain at least 4 TD drives that start inside our own 40 per game with this offense. Right now, it seems like we often struggle to generate more than 2. We can’t rely on the defense getting turnovers if we want to score more than 20 points in a game.

  • In order of which games are most likely to go well for the Ravens:

Browns Rams: Want LAR to win. I think the Rams should be outright favored. The Browns are injured to hell and LA has Kyren Williams back, who is a game changer.

Cardinals Steelers: Want ARI to win. The Cards with Murray are very capable of being spooky, and the Steelers team is not built to win games in a dominating fashion. I think this is a coinflip game.

Chiefs Packers: Want GB to win. The Packers aren’t very good, but Love has been playing better as of late and the Chiefs offense has looked so stagnant. That being said, if Rashee Rice has truly broken out, with that defense, the Chiefs are going to win. If GB can limit him and Kelce, they have a shot.

Dolphins Commanders: Want WAS to win. The dolphins beat the shit out of bad teams and this Commanders team ain’t good. I expect some gaudy stats from the MIA offense.

Jaguars Bengals: Want CIN to win (sounds gross but JAX is a contender while CIN is not) As much as I hate to admit it, Joe Burrow is a phenomenal fucking QB, because this Bengals team has clearly been carried by him and the receiving core. I don’t see any way that the Bengals win this one.

  • The guy is a baller. No, he’s not as good as Kirk, but he’d exciting and talented enough to win with a decent roster around him.

I think this is the birth of the next Fitzpatrick/Minshew type QB who won’t ever be a superstar franchise QB, but will enjoy a career as long as he likes playing for a team each year that is either a contender who lost its QB to injury or a team with a rookie project and who needs a temporary starter who is a great locker room guy while also being good at QB.

Though, I have to say, my ravens would love to have him as Lamar’s backup. Huntley is the current backup and he’s not good, but we keep him because his style fits into our offense. Dobbs would be a fantastic backup to Lamar, but I fear he’s played himself out of career backup prices. He’ll be a starter for many years to come, just for different teams. And that’s not a bad career, he will make good money and endear himself to many fanbases, as he has here. No matter what, his first two games here were fucking awesome.

  • For a combination of player and coach that succeeded in one of the worst situations in football, some people on this sub sure do not trust KOC nor does it seem they have any gratitude or respect for Dobbs.

They see these guys in practice every day. They are starting whichever QB gives them the best chance to win. And Dobbs has shown he is a playmaker. Hall looked good for one drive… that’s not all that indicative of anything. Trust in KOC, he’s been doing a pretty decent job all things considered. If Dobbs keeps playing like he does and keeps starting, I think it’s safe to assume it’s for a reason, and Hall just hasn’t shown what the coaches would like to see. It’s not like Dobbs is some underperforming, overpaid dud. The team has zero incentive to play him other than he is the best option, so if he starts even with Jaren healthy, trust it’s the right call.

  • Looking at these comments and im.honestly stunned. This fanbase cannot simply appreciate that no game is perfect and Dobbs did fairly well against a good defense. Haters coming out of the woodwork to overreact to a 1 point loss… story as old as time.

The guy has been here for 3 weeks. Let’s not pass judgment on things that take time to develop like timing on a deep ball, chemistry with the center/offensive line, and running up-tempo.

The first turnover was bad but he was set up for failure by that playcall. The second was not his fault, he got hit from the blindside while throwing.

  • Hoping the Browns win while looking putrid.

I’m a Minnesota fan above all but the Ravens so I’ll be looking forward to watching Dobbs tonight. He’s my favorite story in the league rn, one of my favorite players, and I’d honestly want us to pursue him as a backup to Lamar this offseason if not for the fact that he’s playing himself up and out of the backup role. If this continues, I can easily see him having a Fitzmagic type career where he stopgap for teams in need of a guy good enough to not lose them games.

Arizona-Houston could be a sneaky good game. Arizona is gonna be trying to make it clear that they are gonna be competing next year, while Houston is looking better and better each game.
