There’s only two rules in the Free Talk Friday Thread: don’t discuss politics or religion, and of course, please keep the tone civil. Like Greg Schiano, all politics and religion do is divide us and anger us. So come on in, grab your finest ales, and talk about what’s on your mind.
I really hope we do not follow in the footsteps of the Panthers. Everyone says the Bucs mortgaged the future for a SB, but all they did is empty the Glazer’s fat wallets for mercenaries, which is what every SB team does. The FO didn’t make any big asset trades (players/picks).
A mediocre to mid team trading the farm for a young rookie QB without the talent or coaching to support him is how you end up with… whatever the fuck that TNF game was. I think Young still has potential, but he has no support with how godawful that team is outside of a couple players on defense. I’d much rather keep talent in house, draft and develop a rookie, and resign Baker as a bridge. And fire Todd Bowles of course.
Im checking out boys. The force feeding of “naw really bakers is elite” stats is just insane.
Ive got 2 eyes. Im watching a dude be average as hell. There is no good reason to keep baker.
Last season everyone said the offense was ass…

A rookie QB would 100% provide the same output with the upside of actually getting better.
AND allow us the ability to sign the key parts of this team.
You sign baker youre losing 1 of AWJ, Mike Evans, or Tristan Wirfs.
Mike Evans is more valuable to any QB that joins this team than baker is. And baker without mike is going to be even worse.
But hey. Part of me hopes y’all get what you ask for so I can atleast laugh at the sudden disappointment.
