Emphasis on enjoy.

I can never fault a team for counterpicking. It’s a very viable strategy for winning.

I’ve been practicing my genji recently and went 16-1 first round. The next round they went moira brig mei sym monkey. I started laughing because 1. I finally understand genji players & 2. Like damn it was all 5 lol.

It was no problem. I counter swapped as well. We won the game (was mostly a matchmaking diff)

But, I couldn’t help but wonder. Did their DPS really enjoy mei sym? Are those the heroes they have fun with? Or the ones they thought would help them win?

Yes it’s “part of the game”. No one doubts that. But does anybody actually ENJOY this part of the game?

I remember before OW2 came out, iirc, they said 5v5 would help tone down the need for counterpicking. But it turned out to be the opposite since now you directly counter 20% of the team instead of 16% of the team.

I’m just interested in what people have to say.

Its fine atleast if ur tank wants to win he can keep countering but the worst aspect is having to ask ur team to swap cause they are hard counterd. This will result either in their ego getting hurt and they wont swap or they will swap but now they play awful cause they are a onetrick. Its rare to see people swap actually if they are pretty good at the game. Like dude they got a winston, sombra, genji. Why are u still on widow after ur 6th death. If i die once i straight up think about swaping hero to not die again. This game is all about staying alive. but these people die over and over again and they dont even think about maybe swaping, its so weird. Maybe the game itself should recommend counter to enemy comp so that people swap more. I dunno.
