The dealership wants to charge me $320 to change my brake fluid and fill it with new fluid. Just wondering if its completely necessary. It’s a 2017 BMW 320i and I am the first owner. Never changed it before as far as I know.

Yes. You don’t want to develop crystals in your fluid

Do it yourself for much cheaper. Brake fluid is hygroscopic and needs to be replaced eventually. The eventually can vary.

A brake flush is absolutely necessary routine service.

Unless you’re married to the dealership, find an indy.

I just had mine done last month, it was absolutely necessary. I had it done at the dealership and it didn’t cost that much. I believe it was only $99 or something like that. I agree with doing it yourself if you don’t have a good relationship with a dealership or Indy. Good luck.

It would have been done, likely twice, while the car was under warranty. It is due every 2 years, and yes, you absolutely should do it.

Def needed, i will say, not as frequent as they want you to do it.
