If the top QB in the draft looked like that, odds are that a mid round QB taken by us is going to have even more growing pains. We have the best young receiving core in the league and a generational player in JJ. Would be tragic if we wasted their potential by committing to a young guy.

At the very least, I hope we can resign cousins and allow a prospect to develop instead of waging our future on someone unproven.

Bryce should’ve been slowly incorporated, that’s just my opinion though.

I think you’re completely missing the point. Bryce Young still has a high ceiling. Not wanting to take a QB high in the draft means you’re missing out on guys like Burrow, Mahomes, Lawrence, and Allen.

Take the 2018 1st round QB draft class. Mayfield, Darnold, Allen, Rosen, Jackson. Yes you might end up with a Rossn, but you might also end up with an Allen or Jackson. If you don’t take risks, you don’t deserve good talent.

If KOC believes he identified our QB of the future, I will have faith that it’s the right decision.

For me it’s the timing. We shouldn’t move on from Kirk until age takes its toll. It could be 39 years old when that happens or it could be 40+. A 3 year extension in 2024 would end when he’s 38. After that I think you would do 1 year deals. The best news here is athleticism isn’t a big part of his game. Because he’s not a running QB he can play longer.

At some point we draft a 1st round QB. I don’t think that time is next year as long as Kirk keeps playing like he has.

Your reasons for not wanting a young qb are exactly why KOC needs to find a young qb lol. No team in the league is set up for a rookie qb to succeed more than the Vikings are for the next 3-4 years
