Pistons are back!!! Happy Gameday!!
We may or may not be in for along season, but that doesn’t mean we cant make some money and have some fun in the process. With that in mind I plan on staying away from betting on Pistons wins/losses and will focus on player props.
THIS IS FOR FUN. I’m not a professional gambler, I don’t claim/pretend to be, however I can call myself a successful gambler, as I’ve won more than I lost. I’m not posting this to argue or debate. Please don’t wager more than you can afford and please please please GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY!!!
Lets get started:
(These are Fan Duel odds at the time of posting)
Isaiah Stewart: Over 9.5 pts (up from 8.5 pts) +104
If you’ve been paying attention to offseason, one of the talking points has been Stew’s much improved offense. While he struggled from 3 in preseason, going 4-21, he was solid in the paint going 12/15 80% in the paint. He also averaged 10.5 in preseason( 9,10, 12, 11) and 11 points last season. His last 5 games of the season scoring 15, 16, 14, 10, & 5 ( he only played 19 mins in the games he scored 5). With Bogey and Morris out that means more shot attempts for other players and Stew seems keen to make the most of his opportunity.
Ausar Thompson: Over 5.5 rebs (up from 4.5 rebs) +106
I don’t know who is making the odds over at FD but this feels like free money. I’ve been waiting to take the over on Ausar rebounds since I laid eyes on him in summer league. Ausar has snagged no less than 8 rebs every time he stepped on a NBA court. He averaged 10 rebs in summer league and 9 rebs in preseason. Miami Heat were also a poor rebounding team in '22-'23. Last year the Heat finished 25th in rebs/game, and finished 6th in opponent rebs/game. If Pistons don’t do anything tonight, they should dominate on the boards.
Cade Cunningham: Over 1.5 3’s -108
Not a whole lot to say but, Cade is back! Its time for Cade to show us all that much improved shot after surgery. He shot the 3 very well in preseason shooting 45% (5/11). Pistons showed during preseason they plan on getting Cade more off ball looks and catch and shoot opportunities. Cade has plenty of playmakers that can find him open in Ausar, Killian, and Ivey. With Bogey and Morris out Cade possibly becomes one our better catch & shoot threats. Miami was also 23rd in opponent 3s per game last season. Further more, they ranked 29th in 3s made by opponent PGs.
PARLAY +673
GOOD LUCK AND GO PISTONS!!!
I took the overs on Ausar’s rebounding. Cade’s 3’s and Jimmy scoring something like 22.5. Tempted to take the under on Lowry’s 1.5 3’s. But that dude would hit 3 in the first quarter if I bet it.
I’d be more willing to bet the under on Stew’s scoring. I bet he’d make less than .5 of his 3’s.
