Of course I’m talking about game 7, after the previous 3 I had thought for sure we had that game. What do you guys think? Would we have pulled off the impossible?
Yes but we should never been down 0-3 to begin with. Miami was an inferior team no matter how anyone tries to deny it. They had no business being in the NBA Finals and we could have made it a more competitive series. I’ve been saying this since last year. Talent was never the problem. When we played our best brand of basketball we were more than capable of beating any team in the league including Denver. The problem was Miami exploited the weaknesses we failed to address. We settled for bad 3s and tried go one on one instado making the extra pass and getting a more efficient shot. Every time we missed a shot we would get demoralized and allow Miami to get any shot they wanted on the other end. We just got too comfortable and dug ourselves into a hole where we had to win 4 games in a row. Obviously if Tatum didn’t roll his ankle we had a better shot at winning but regardless of that we still were not playing good basketball
100%. Obviously the Heat are great and doing annoying shit, but we had all the momentum going into that game. Once Tatum got hurt, it was clear it was over.
Yea
Game 7 for sure
Sure do. If Tatum drops an efficient 35 in that game and puts pressure on Miami’s defense, I don’t think they had it in them to overcome it even WITH JB reverting back to high school level play and Caleb Martin playing like Klay Thompson.
The score of that game 7 was 103-84…what jumps out about that score? Even despite out of body performances by their role players, they only averaged 109 PPG for the series - exactly matching their NBA-low PPG in the season. I think they were on the ropes in that game 7 and if we had any way at all (JT doesn’t roll his ankle, JB remembers how to play basketball, Brogdon doesn’t have a busted ligament in his shooting arm) to put pressure on their defense, they would have cracked.
I do actually, we had all the momentum and that both literally and figuratively shot us in the foot
It was clear we were a better team than miami and we finally figured them out, but we can’t beat them without tatum
“Could” questions are awful because the answer is almost always yes. For instance, if the game has been played in Sacramento on my birthday, the Celtics could have won.
Meaningless.
I genuinely think we win if they don’t put a bounty on him
Naw. Basketball gods will never allow a 3-0 deficit to be overcome
I certainly believe so. Last years Celtics is very good offensively vs non defensive team. If we match opponents offense to offense. Thats where we shine. Nuggets absolutely fluked last season. It wont happen again, guaranteed
Brother I’ve been thinking about this nearly every day since last June. Let’s move on. The team looks good & healthy (knocking on wood)
Does it matter? They weren’t beating the Nuggets.
Tatum could have at least a better % to score when all of those bricks were not falling. + no JB hero ball that turned the ball over and over again if JT was there.
It would be a close game and I think we would come on top. On the other hand we would get oblitirated by Denver anyway so 0-1 is better than 0-2.
