Sometimes we remember games from when we were kids as being great, yet when we get to play them again years later, we realize they were only good because we were too young or because of nostalgia.
So, what games don’t fit that list for you and continued enjoyable after many years?
For me it’s Goldeneye on the N64. I had last played it in 2003 when I was 9 and last week got the chance to play it again. To my surprise, I still had tons of fun shooting soviet guards using a myriad of weapons.
Agario (mobile). That’s the only game I have been playing since 2016
Red Alert 2,Star Wars Battlefront 2(2005), old Medal of Honor and COD games and of course GTA San Andreas
Adventure Island snes
Halo on the original Xbox. That was such a mind blowing experience as a kid.
Sonic 2 on Megadrive. Soundtrack is still one of the best from a game.
Final Fantasy Tactics still holds up.
Kingdom hearts 1 and 2 still hold up today.
Super mario sunshine is still Goated. Also dolphino plaza music slaps!
F1 06
Even had live commentary from the real broadcasters and “manual pitstops” and other small features like custom starting grids, oil on track etc.
And of course Need for Speed Underground 2 and Most Wanted was peak NFS
Fonv
Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2 still hold up, even better than the most recent games.
Zelda Twilight Princess. Legitimately cannot find any games that hit that same tonal blend of warm/dark/weird.
Also, the Metroid Prime games are top notch.
Super Mario 3, Super Mario world, hell, even Mario 64 still plays great despite a few camera issues in certain spots.
Streets of Rage 2.
Game still holds up as one of the single best beat em ups of all time with an absolute God like sound track.
Been ploughing a ton of time into rollercoaster tycoon classic on my phone, it really holds up
