Ron Rivera won us Superbowls? No.

Perpetual playoff contenders? No.

Has he made some questionable game decisions, off season moves and a bit too much loyalty to “his guys” like Turner? Sure.

…But the amount of flak, disdain and straight up rudeness coming his way from this sub is overboard.

Do you all remember the state of our team when he got here? We were a literal shit show.

While Rivera may not have delivered us to the final dance, you can not tell me he isn’t leaving this franchise in WAY better shape than he found it.

I’m not sure another coach aside from like maybe Cowher, Belicheck, Reid etc could have pointed our team back in the right direction as well as he has.

Oh, while beating cancer and getting IVs at halftime.

Oh, and while drafting us our future franchise QB.

Oh, and while making sure we had Terry, Allen and Payne locked up contractually.

Oh, and while making sure whoever comes in next year is loaded with cap space and draft picks.

Oh, and while bringing in EB, naming him assistant HC so if hired there is a smooth transition for players etc.

So enoughs enough. If your biggest gripe with him is a misplaced timeout, media blunder or the fact he didn’t hit 100% of his draft picks…maybe you’re the one with the problem.

Its real easy to throw stones anonymously, andbjust easy to drop em’ and kick em too…So maybe give the latter a try.

Just my two cents…

I didn’t ready any of it except for the title. But aren’t we tired of talking about Ron? He’s gone after this season. Forget about it. Seems like a nice guy, I wish all the best for him. He’s not head coach material. Let’s move on and forget about it

I advise you to steer clear of the FB fan pages then. A lot of smooth brains in there. At least the Reddit page has more rational thinking fans.

I am happy we had Rivera, and I’m not afraid to say it. 2020-2022 the players stood by his side and I still think they do… but I think they also know he won’t be here after this season, making 2023 weird. I think he was an excellent choice, one of the few Snyder decisions that was good.

Everything you said was true but this is Reddit and you know truth doesn’t matter if it doesn’t validate your opinion.

My biggest gripe isn’t any of those. It’s that he keeps us mediocre. Having Ron coach us seems like we’re just in an eternal tie

Ron’s a bum. Outside of MVP Cam and Kuechly’s prime he’s been a subpar coach. This is the NFL. Every team is capable of competing. His 4 years to compete bullshit when he got hired was a sign of things to come. Can’t wait until he’s gone. I ran out of patience last year when he blamed Jamin Davis for the team’s struggles when it was Ron’s fault the team had to lean so heavily on a second year guy playing out of position. This team had enough talent to compete before trading the DEs. They’d have enough talent to compete for the division they kept Holcomb or got another playable lb. They’re just very poorly coached. They come out flat, go through lulls, and don’t play complimentary football

Our defensive minded head coach is leading us to one of the worst defenses in the league.

There’s definitely a lot of folks quick to take shots at Ron. Not just here/fans either but media too. I do feel for him on a person to person level. Dude has gone through some real tough shit while having the toughest head coaching job in the league (could you imagine Dan/Tanya Snyder being your boss 😳).

I think he’s done a good job improving the culture, which contrary to some beliefs, was not damn good before he got here. He’s whiffed on some draft picks but he’s also hit some good ones too. I think that’s just the nature of the draft tbh. I won’t be sad to see him go, as I think his time here is coming to a natural end (unless he gets us into + wins a playoff game or two, not holding my breath lol). But I won’t be dancing in the streets either.

I wish Ron peace and good health in whatever lies ahead for him.

This team is no better off due to Rivera. The losing culture continues. Not sure why you folks cling to Ron’s nuts so hard.

He took over a sinking ship and kept it afloat. That was what we needed at the time, and not every coach could’ve done it. We’re past that era and it’s time to move on, and find a head coach that can not just save the team from imploding, but lead them to greatness.

I really disagree with the assertion that Ron somehow helped this team navigate a change in ownership in any meaningful way.

What tangible thing did Ron do that helped with the ownership change?

IMO he gets a lot of credit for doing nothing.

This team doesn’t really do anything well, we don’t have superstars at any position, Ron sucks so much lol.
