If you were implementing cutting edge strategies that paid off, then ok maybe you’re a savant
But you played Lindy Waters who probably doesn’t even deserve a spot in the NBA for almost 20 minutes when you left a lot of better guys on the bench.
Stop the narrative “it takes 20 games for metrics” bullshit. Win. With our strongest players, because they need the wins to feed that confidence.
Tonight was inexcusable, no matter what excuses are made and there needs to be a little accountability.
Lindy was not the reason we lost that game. Coach’s rotations have been much more consistent this year, we generally play our top guys and there’s 1, maybe 2 spots per night where he will try one of our bench players who he thinks will help us that game. Accountability? For playing Waters? Give me a break. I see nothing wrong with trying different guys against different teams, as long as the core minutes getters are out there. We’re trying to develop long term success here. Thank God you’re not the coach or GM. “Demanding accountability” from the coach for trying out a player you don’t like for 20 minutes is some entitled douchebag shit.
It’s a marathon not a sprint
This sub is so annoyingly overreactionary. Everyone needs to calm down. I would think Mark has earned some trust. Do I understand why Lindy played 20m? No. Do I think Mark had some coaching rationale why he did that? Of course. This is a problem if Lindy gets 20m a night for the rest of the season, or if Mark falls in love with a lineup/rotation that just never works (think Scott Brooks). It’s not a problem when it doesn’t work for one game or even 5 games. I want to see more Micic and more Chet/Jwill lineups. I’m not freaking out thinking Mark is a terrible coach because it hasn’t happened yet 9 games into the season.
