Just want to have a discussion. I think a lot of non-Sixers people figured his ceiling prior to this year was a fringe All Star like a D’Aaron Fox but better with shooting.
But all he does is continue to add to his bag. He came into the league with a wet floater and elite speed. Then he became an elite shooter and mastered going to his left. Now it’s his passing and defense. What the hell is next for him?
Where do you see him compared to the rest of the league in 3 years as he truly hits his prime? Top 20 player? Top 10?
If you had said the latter a year ago, I probably would have scoffed. But honestly I think that Maxey has shown us that we shouldn’t even try putting a ceiling on him because that beautiful head will just bust through it.
Top 15 player in the league. I think his ceiling is something similar to prime dame
I came here to say dame. It’s a very good comp
Top 5 point guard of all time
Top 5 player. 30 and 10
IDK, I’m a bit more pessimistic than others when it comes to Maxey.
I think he’ll make a few all-star appearances, but probably not this year.
The roof?
Faster more athletic Dame is pretty accurate and means he would be better. Everyone would say before this season that Dame was the much better playmaker but after what Maxey has done so far this season as full-time PG, who knows?
He’s already a much better defender than dame, so I’d say his ceiling is top 10 player in the league but dependent on another guy or two to win a chip.
He’s an ELITE shooter and finisher at the rim, 90% free throw shooter, and like 6/1 turnover ratio. Kid is special
I always thought he hade Dame Lillard caliber ceiling and I’m glad that others are seeing it too now.
His rookie season, I thought his ceiling is prime Jeremy Lin. Now I think he can be Damian Lilard
When Maxey figures out how to get to the line more, like 8 FTA per game, he’ll be a superstar guard. I have all the confidence he’ll figure that part of the game out.
