Just got in a 980 pro to throw in my unraid server. When searching for how to update my firmware, Im seeing a lot of people post about fake drives. What they dont say in these posts is how they know they are fake. In all the pictures the drives look fine to me… I wouldnt have known they are fake.

Also - im trying to update my firmware before installing in my server. I have a NVME to USBC adapter to update, but that doesnt seem to be working with samsungs update tool.

Do I really have to INSTALL this drive in a spare laptop, install windows, and then update my firmware for this drive???
