Chase is a free agent after this season. Him and Bosa are a monster pass rushing duo as showcased today but do we have the capacity to re-sign him with all the big contracts on our roster?

Depends on whether he’s willing to take a massive discount on a team-friendly deal or not.

If the team wants him then they will 100%! get it done. They’ll restructure and move stuff around and let some guys go if they want him bad enough. If he’s on another team it’s cuz the team felt they didn’t need him.

The whole idea with the trade is it’s essentially 0 risk. He does great and breaks out, then you get a star pass rusher that helps you win now. He will get paid big probably by another teams and this lands you a free comp 3rd you used to acquire him. If he ends up flopping, well then he only costed you 561k towards the cap and a comp 3rd and he’s off the books after the season. Basically no lose proposition; maybe they can keep him if they can restructure some money but it’s gonna be hard to pay 4 top dollar pass rushers.
