Definitely don’t think we bring him back on a contract but it’s been a disappointing year for him imo. What do we think about his year so far?
He’s not as good as we though, maybe because of the injury, but the coaching and O line aren’t doing him any favors.
He’s the starter so obviously the back up is better. Rinse and repeat.
We should put him on outside runs way more and have him as a receiving back
He is an east-west change-of-pace back who can occasionally catch a swing or dump pass. That is his niche. That was always supposed to be his niche. He excels as the second string back.
Dowdle is a north south yards eater with a penchant for getting first downs. I haven’t seen him in pass protection yet, but something tells me he aint afraid to hammer a blitzing linebacker. He should be the primary.
Some of y’all forget why Emmit Smith has the record and not Barry Sanders- Barry lost 1,114 yards going backwards because he was shifting around so damn much. Is it sexy when they do acrobatic stuff? Sure. But you know what’s sexier? Going forward and moving the ball.
Pollard is shifty. It’s fun. It makes a tired defense look stupid. But Dowdle has that early Zeke Elliot dawg in him- he fuckin fights. And considering the state our line is in against winning teams, Dowdle may have a short career (poor line play ate up Zeke too), so we may as well run this man for all he’s worth and save Pollard’s legs for the home runs.
I think he is coming off injury.
I think he is getting hit in the backfield a lot more than people are suggesting. Our run blocking is terrible.
This team needs the pass to set up the run. Not the other way around.
If we can throw for 400 yards while they stop the run so be it. Throw the friggin ball.
I love how everyone is blaming Pollard when they are 100% scheming him differently.
Moore knows how to use RBs as pass catchers. Mike does not
