I have had the same issue with Kyle since he got here - and I know it’s only regular season game 1 - but I saw no indicators to expect something different. My issue with him since he first put on a Heat uniform - has been his lack of assertiveness.

Look, I know that he facilitates well and that the Heat have other guys that do the scoring - but, every now and again the team needs someone to take the load off Bam, Jimmy and Tyler - that someone is Kyle. Again, I appreciate his ability and desire to facilitate - but too often he just seems to be disinterested in being assertive in terms of scoring. It just can’t happen. He needs to be more assertive. Period.

When the starting lineup came out I said about Kyle - “Good. He should be starting. There it really no better lineup to start with.”

I still believe this to be true and will for at least a few more games into the season. But at some point a change/upgrade will be needed if he just doesn’t provide enough. I know he will be a UFA after next season, but a change may be needs sooner if he just doesn’t step it up.
