I understand that most people would say that AMD is the way to go for Linux Gaming, but the latest NVIDIA Beta Drivers seem to have cleared up a lot of Wayland issues and may even support HDR.
So, which distro has the “easiest” NVIDIA implementation? I know Manjaro will install NVIDIA drivers out of the box, but it looks like updating those drivers, especially to Beta Drivers is a pain.
Are there any distros that offer both an easy initial install and update of NVIDIA Drivers?
You do realize that AMD was almost bankrupt a few years ago, laid off most of their software developers (for Linux), and just the few last years have been getting money in their account again?
Replacing lost talent, train them, and develop software takes time.
We’re starting to see the fruits of that, but AMD will still lack on the development side versus Intel and Nvidia for still some time. But things are getting better. It’s not that long ago that release day support in Mesa for new GPUs was a dream.
