People are growing tired with games that want you to play JUST THEM AND NOTHING ELSE.
Very few live service games are able to compete, and the ones that are running are not doing good at the moment. Why, or WHY would you keep trying to push a trend that not many people want.
I don’t think anyone wants to be playing a game based on the Suicide squad vs the Justice league for the next 5+ years. Your just going to rotate and churn players till the game tanks.
you have the Avengers game as an example… as a BAD example of how to develop a game and they still wanna go through with this
Goodbye, Rocksteady. It was great while we knew yee…
The next iteration of the monthly subs. I wondered where it would lead as I knew that model could not support dedicated AAA games as we had seen in the past.
So here we have the death cycle of live service gaming…
- Invest less up front into game
- Less to interest players and keep them playing until the next weak patch/update
- Game dies
- Abandon game
1 out of 10, if that, may make it. But people just won’t ever keep playing a game that is mediocre on day one.
Sadly i think this is one of this situations of “throwing Thousands of things to the wall and see if at least 1 sticks” situation
They Will keep pushing and pushing dozens and dozens of games without ends trying to be the Next Fortnite or at the very least the Next Destiny
Its is sad but the companies wont stop without Caring of losing money looking for the long term profit with controlled Risk and Will keep pushing this shit without stop because different from the lootboxes, this shit is legal
Square is doing It, Warner said they Will do this, PlayStation plans on at least a dozen of these ones…
Welp guess I won’t be buying Batman games for the foreseeable future
And after Rocksteady along side the community saying it wouldn’t sell… They really want their games to fail.
and now the reason Sefton Hill left Rocksteady becomes very clear.
Yeesh, after the let down that was Gotham knights. I have very little faith in rocksteady anymore.
The last one failed miserably so we thought we should do that for all of our games.
Why does this game need to be live service? lol That’s ridiculous
Thank goodness video gaming hasn’t always sucked. I’ve been spending the last 5 years getting caught up on ps1/ps2 games I never got a chance to play. New games just aren’t fun anymore, for the most part.
“We had a good thing, you stupid son of a bitch! We had Batman, we had Arkham, we had everything we needed and it all ran like clockwork! You could have shut your mouth, cooked, and made as much money as you ever needed. It was perfect! But no! You just had to blow it up! You, and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the shareholder! If you’d known your place, we’d all be fine right now!”
