I usually prefer when a game has it’s own identity and developes it with time. Overwatch has started and is planning to do more crossovers, which never peak my interest. The more crossovers we have the less about Overwatch we know. And it’s a bit immersion breaking for me.
However, I think these crossover events are a huge success in terms of sales. People seem to like them. Why? What’s the appeal?

I think both collaboration have been misses so far - cartoons and K-pop don’t appeal to me.
But it’s not like the game hasn’t developed its identity over time - it was 7 years before the first collaboration after all. People have liked them so far, so no issues for me.
