First let me say that CJ and Allen were 100% guilty of holding. I’m not saying that hold should have been ignored. But the fact that the raiders were able to get away with lots of penalties is infuriating. It’s like this: Imagine if you and some other cars are on a 5-lane highway with a speed limit of 50. You (in the right lane) are driving 55 mph and everyone else is driving 70 mph. A police car in the left lane clocks each cars speed, then cuts across 4 lanes of traffic, almost causing an accident, and goes out of his way to pull you over (even though you were speeding the least). Once he pulls you over, he says “GOTCHA! Give me your license so I can give you a ticket!” This is what the problem with the refs are. They ignore blatant penalties by the other team, but go out of their way and breathe on the jets neck, looking so hard for the tiniest hold.
Raiders weren’t called for this illegal blindside block: https://x.com/sharpfootball/status/1723906447958839509?s=46&t=p_Ar030spXrbK0VccHZrJw
They also missed a bunch of holds on Huff and Jermaine. The refs weren’t as bad today as they have been in other games…but it does seem like the Jets get the ticky tack stuff called on them, while the other team does not.
I refuse to believe that the Raiders of all teams played that clean of a game.
I saw a blatant hand to the throat and face by the LV OL and holding that wasn’t called.
NFL fans say stupid shit like “If you want calls you need to win and have good players” but that is admitting there are no need for rules if making calls is arbitrary and mainly based on popularity.
A different analogy is: Who would play at a casino where the odds were stacked against them only.
