It’s kind of insane how many needs Paul George fills on this roster. I think a jump to acquire him this year would be too early, but do you think the pacers make a move before next season? The clippers are in dire straits right now and the Harden expirement is unlikely to work out. Pacers have an excess of bench depth that should probably be moved at some point.

Clippers have no future and aren’t winning. May not even need to trade serious pick value, just a pick or two and multiple bench players.

I know interior defense (mostly at the 4) is also a need, but George adds huge upside in a homecoming. How much would you guys be satisfied moving for Paul George?

I would love to have PG back and he would be a perfect fit, but he’s just too injury prone. I wouldn’t take the risk.

We need a defensive 4 who can get an occasional 3 and keep moving the ball on offense.

Not sure where we could find such a player though

I know people hate him, but you just described Draymond Green…

If the warriors season continues to go south, and the Pacer’s recognize they need a culture of defense established, I wonder if a couple younger players for Draymond could be in the cards

Yeah I was just jokingly referring to Jarace Walker, who I hope can be Draymond-like in a couple years

To me, it all depends on what you give up. He’s basically a short term rental on the back end of his career. I’m unwilling to setback what we’ve built after he ditched the last time. If we could acquire him without losing any of our core, then I’d definitely consider it. But that’s highly unlikely. I’d be willing to trade Hield, Theis, and McConnell. The money on that deal works, but I don’t see LA taking that deal.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he came back. That clippers team is constructed terribly and he’s basically now their 3-4 best player when he should be their second.

Paul George has a player option next season and could opt out to sign one final multi year deal to end his career. Pacers have a team option on Bruce Brown next season and could let him walk if PG wanted to return. I don’t see it happening but it’s a fun hypothetical. Harden is a cancer who appears to be infecting yet another franchise.
