If Mathurin doesn’t start to look like an all star next season a move has to be made to get Tyrese a second star. You can’t risk losing him.
He is 7th in minutes per game but agree that he should average more rebs
If we didn’t have Nesmith I’d take a shot at Patrick Williams as a reclamation project. But I think Nesmith is a far better player.
He’s been as expected. Great offensively but inconsistent defensively.
Tyrese and Jarace could be the next gen Steph and Draymond
If you’re fine giving up 140 points every game and never being able to blow a team out then sure. Jarace will need to be DPOY level for that to work long term.
Jarace seems most comfortable with the ball in his hands attacking the rim. Needs to learn how to play without the ball and either stop shooting 3s or change his release.
Gimme a Nembhard, Bruce, Nesmith, Jarace, Myles lineup soon please.
For those curious 107 is the record for most points in a first half
Nembhard was one of the best defenders in the league last year and it shows when he doesn’t play.
I guess Buddy and Benn have both been struggling so maybe just a temporary move to try to get them out of their funk? At some point you gotta go all in on Mathurin and just let him play through the ups and downs. The inconsistent minutes and role is not helping him.
I think his ceiling is Draymond without the anger issues.
2nd season and getting inconsistent PT. Watch the YouTube highlights of his game against Milwaukee and you’ll feel better.
Magic defense is tough and Pacers showed up with no energy
Both are great players but Tyrese is on track to average the most assists in 30 years on 50 40 90 splits. He’s averaging twice as many assists as Fox. Fox is a better interior scorer but I’ll take Haliburton every day of the week. He’s the best point guard of this generation.
He works hard on that end and is a great communicator. I think he’s looked much improved defensively this season.
Mathurin has had his moments where he looks like that second star. Once he gets used to the pace and stops thinking too much he should look like the guy from that 2 game stretch where he killed it.
Paul George has a player option next season and could opt out to sign one final multi year deal to end his career. Pacers have a team option on Bruce Brown next season and could let him walk if PG wanted to return. I don’t see it happening but it’s a fun hypothetical. Harden is a cancer who appears to be infecting yet another franchise.
Obi’s pretty much been as expected. I like that they use him a lot to start the game to try to push the pace and build up an early lead then transition to Nesmith down the stretch. Toppin’s defense doesn’t seem like it will ever be good enough to be a long term starter.
Toppin is def not the long term starting 4. He was brought in as a filler to give them time to develop Jarace. Toppin isn’t a bad option at backup 4 for the right price but his defense is terrible.
