Let’s not be over critical of Bill’s drafting. Over the last 23 years he averages 2 or 3 standout players a year. Alot of these guys have had or will have impressive careers. Considering the overall amount of players drafted throughout the NFL in that time span its easily argued he knows good players.
The argument is not that Bill has always sucked at drafting. It’s that the drafting has been bad the last ~6 years.
Bill is also fine at drafting and developing players into sort of middling guys. Your Tavai’s and Bentley’s of the world. Necessary, solid, but not moving the needle.
The the Patriots are pretty devoid of blue chip talent, particularly on offense.
