growing up in SoCal i always been the minority Clippers fan. i respect the Lakers franchise but coming up i could not stand their fan base. the Lakers fan base of the early 2000s was a different breed of arrogance.

one day i turned on a Clippers vs Warriors game and i really liked our red jersey with the Clippers in cursive. since then i gravitated to the team and here i am 2+ decades later. our G-League team being based nearby in Ontario is cool too, i pop in for a few games a season.

i was always the only Clipper fan growing up and man those Laker fans used to talk all kinds of shit to me lol making fun of me for wearing Clippers hat or gear, trying to get me to switch sides. but i consider myself to be somewhat of an underdog so the Clippers really spoke to me. fast forward to today i feel like we may have the brightest future in the league, despite the current dramas.

anyway, where are you all from and what drew you to becoming a Clipper fan?

Born and raised in LA proper. Clips have done more for the city than the Lakers. You’ll notice a lot of public works projects funded by the Clippers that leads to less kids on the streets.

Russia. Lamar Odom to Darius Miles alley-oop. THE LOB! THE JAM! I was in school when I first saw the clip (in mid-00s).

20 years later I have finally decided to watch NBA on a regular basis. Took a look at all the teams, fell in love with the Clippers immediately. I regret it some nights, but will never manage to choose a different team.

Tennessee! My friend and I would play 2K11 in middle school. I used the Magic which JJ Reddick was on at the time. He was my secret weapon that I’d sub in and shout “WHITE BOIIIII!” As he splashed a three. (We also referred to Gortat as “Skinhead”) After one match I decided to look up JJ and saw he was on the Clippers which also had my favorite player (Chris Paul) been a fan ever since! Until that point I only watched Memphis games and whatever other game my grandpa was interested in.

I like to keep track of the 10 NBA teams that have never won a championship and the Clips franchise is the most interesting of the bunch. Donald Sterling used to be so cheap it still haunts them to this day. Would love to see them finally get past the conference finals one day.

Daryl Morey is a liar and I will always support an organisation with someone who calls him out.

I’m from New England, have no allegiance to local teams, primarily an OKC guy as a franchise goes but I came in on the train with Russ and doubled down with Harden. Always loved PG and Kawhi, had a lot of fun watching the Lob City days too. Ultimately I care more about players I like and want to see them win rings, LAC could check three of those boxes at once. I’ll admit I’m basically a stan of two of the most polarizing guys in the league but try not to be delusional or root for them individually over the team. I’d rather see the Clippers win it all with Westbrook and Harden injured or benched if that’s what it takes. Ideally though I’d like to see them excel as a team and help amend their and PG’s ringless narratives. Plus Kawhi winning three with three franchises would be dope

Grew up in Florida in a family that never watched or played basketball. I played and watched football my whole life. At around 19 years old I watched what I imagine to be the 2010-2011 NBA playoffs. I watched from round one to the finals. I watched every team. I started getting really interested. I didn’t have a team that I felt connected to, I just enjoyed watching different teams play styles. . The next two years I started watching any game that was on tv. I really liked two teams. The clippers because I really enjoyed watching CP3. His control of the team was so cool to see. These young guys Steph curry and klay Thompson really caught my attention as well. I also really liked the grizzlies with Zach Randolph and the hawks team with Teague, corver, horford etc.

I was rooting for the spurs every year in the finals against Miami. I loved kawhi and that whole team really. Something clicked during lob city. It just became my favorite thing to watch. Blake, DJ, Cp3 and then JJ, Jamal. I loved that team. I bought some nba tv package I watched every clippers game from Florida for like 4 years then coincidentally ended up moving to San Diego and I’ve been able to go to a game or two a year ever since. My favorite time being a clippers fan was the year we were beating teams with Lou will, Harrell, gallinari and G league fill ins. That team played so hard and only ever seemed to win off of 4th quarter comebacks. Now we’re ultra talented and super soft.

I could rant about the clippers all day. I love this team

LA local (Pasadena). 94-95 season when KTLA was known as the WB channel and they televised Clippers games. I was fascinated by a team who lost their first 16 games of the season only to outdo themselves and give up 71 points to David Robinson for their season finale.

Live in Boise, grew up in Pasadena. Born there, but lived in OKC/Texas for some early childhood. Had moved back to SoCal and gotten into basketball just as the Clips drafted BG. Couldn’t bring myself to root for the Lakers, so now they’re stuck with me… or I’m stuck with them?
