At 4-5 we are currently behind the 5-5 Raiders, 5-5 Colts, 5-4 Bills, 5-4 Bengals, and 5-4 Texans for the last Wildcard spot.

To make the playoffs we will likely have to be at least 9-8 and likely 10-7 with the way the AFC is shaping up.

Our remaining games are: @ Packers vs Ravens @ Patriots vs Broncos @ Raiders vs Bills @ Broncos vs Cheifs

I see Packers, Patriots, Raiders and 1 (maybe 2) Broncos game as potential wins

If this happened we are set up to sneak into the playoffs.

My question is:

would you rather we sneak into the playoffs and win a wildcard game, but Staley stays the HC

Or

Barely miss the playoffs but Staley gets fired

This are the two most realistic scenarios imo (minus the win a playoff game part) and I personally always root for the team to win/make playoffs.

This being said I cannot stand Staley and would rather we fire him no matter what the outcome of this year is

    I’d like to reach the post season purely for Herbert’s development, we can’t expect him to win the big one if he’s not reaching the playoffs - that experience is priceless, even if we lose in the first round.

    But, reaching the playoffs likely means a 10 year extension for Staley+TT. Which isn’t ideal.

    Us losing with this crew = Staley should get fired.

    If we start winning, then hey - he’s the guy who turned it around and he should stay.

    We went 14 - 2 and fired a coach once.

    I believe unless staley makes it to the super bowl, win or loss, that he’s fired. I don’t believe he is here next season unless he gets us into the super bowl.

    I think players and fans have soured on him. Dean seems a little bit more invested on games lately.

    I say, root for as much success as possible. But be open about how unhappy you are about the current head coach. Keep his seat hot. But don’t root for our destruction.

    I’d only want to tank if we could realistically get MH Jr. Which at this point, we can not unless we make a trade and give up a haul.

    What players realistically are gone next year is an issue, my understanding was $$$$ wise it was make it or break it time
