Before his injury he was playing like an All-Pro.

Since his return it’s more like he’s just kind of there.

Anyone know if he’s not quite back to 100%?

He’s a safety by instinct and is being forced into cornerback roles. He is best roaming the secondary and not trying to cover guys in man-to-man. Aaron Glenn is a horrible coordinator, but I do realize we are shorthanded in the secondary. Branch would’ve benefited greatly if CJGJ and Moseley had been healthy.

Branch has been elite in man to man coverage… He tied at 73rd in the league according to pff with the amount of times hes been targeted. I don’t think that’s his issue at the moment. I think its just his motor. He looks hesitant at times in the run game. Which is literally one of his calling cards. Nonetheless, he will be just fine. Besides, I wanted him guarding Allen yesterday. I truly feel he’s the only guy in the secondary who can remain sticky in coverage. Him and sauce Gardner are in the same tier in terms of allowing the least separation….which is why he isn’t targeted all that often.

Agreed. Both him and LaPorta have kinda dipped after crazy productive starts. LaPorta still making key catches but Branch been invisible the last few.

I haven’t even noticed him being on the field the last few games. They don’t seem to have him playing the LoS like he did early in the season which IMOP is his strong point. I think the injuries to the CBs have forced him to have to play more zone.
