KAT could be a really good fit alongside barnes and is also 2 years younger than siakam.

Siakam could also be an amazing fit next to edwards and gobert and may be the final piece they need to make them legit contenders.

You can also then trade poelt for some bench pieces like cason wallace + salary filler and picks.

The wolves have a cap problem. They are in the second apron next year. I’m all for a franchise to spend its money, but historical the wolves do not. Even if they resign Pascal, is he gonna make less than Kat? Would they save that much? Flip that worse case scenario, Pascal leaves. You just lost KAT for a rental salary dump. It doesn’t seem like a good trade. They gonna want some kind of long-term return.

and why would the wolves do this? How does pascal help space out Rudy better than towns?

Siakam is the best number 2 option in the league. Elite defender, can facilitate and score at a high level as a number 2. Score first guard/wing have always been a great combo with a point forward type of player like pascal. For example, mj/pippen, lbj/kyrie, draymond/klay and steph, pascal/kawhi have all been great duo’s with their style of play fitting together seamlessly. Siakam and edwards would be a great fit.

Also, pascal is a much better defender than KAT and can elevate the ceiling of an already great defense.

i’d rather find a way to convert poeltl into a vuc trade some how some way if chicago pulls the rip cord. Poeltl is mainly salary.

I actually don’t mind this trade, I’m not a huge Kat fan mostly because I think he’s soft and not a great defender BUT he’s an elite scorer and his game fits with Scottie like a glove because he can shoot threes and move off the ball, he doesn’t need to be the focal point of an offense to score like Siakam does, he can play off the ball and give you 25ppg on a consistent basis which would be ideal next to Scottie…let Scottie be the hub and let Kat, OG, Schroder, Dick, and Otto play off of him

That being said, I’m not sure if they do that trade because they’re playing well right now…I think Siakam is a better pairing next to Gobert but you would have to convince the Timberwolves of that lol
