Game tips at 7 mst. Just like the other night this may as well be a game thread for anyone wanting to see some of the Jazz rookies (and if the Jazz decide to tank, maybe one of their rookies next year?) Game is on NBAgleague.com and on Jazz+ now. I’ll comment occasional updates on anything I find interesting.
Unsure if Hendricks will play tonight since he left last game with a sickness. Sensabaugh was flaming hot last game so hopefully he carries it through tonight. G League Ignite have guys like Matas Buzelis, Ron Holland and a few other guys who are projected to go pretty early in the 24 draft so if you want to see a bit of what they can do it’ll be a good one to watch.
Also, random but David Stockton plays for Ignite, not sure if he gets minutes but would be cool to see.
Stars up 32-29 after 1. Brice has 9 points, looks pretty rough on defense but looks very NBA ready on offense, once again Hendricks checks out at the 6 minute mark and hasn’t quite gotten back in. Hoping he’s not sick still
Stars up 12-11 early on at the first timeout, Sensabaugh dropped another 3 after making a few great passes.
Hendricks has made the right reads but has had a couple tough mistakes, 5 points early with the corner 3 and great drive. The Ron Holland matchup is going to be a great challenge for him especially with Holland projected to go top 3 in next year’s draft. Take both performances with a grain of salt. overall good start for Hendricks, Holland and Brice
Random thing I’ve noticed but Taevion Kinsley reminds me a lot of Ochai on defense, a lot of what he does won’t show up on the stat sheet but his effort makes loads of difference.
Potter is such an interesting player because I feel like he’s too good for G league but not good enough for the NBA
Wait is that John Stocktons kid that played for us on a ten day like 6-7 years ago
I’m gonna have a million comments tonight but Taylor Hendricks is just dominating on the defensive end, two straight plays he forces a turnover (one being on Ron Holland too!) and the stars get a quick bucket at the other end upping the lead to 51-35. He’s doing what I envision him doing for the Jazz, when he’s confident he can be very, very good and a huge impact piece
Also shout-out to Isaiah Miller for throwing down the windmill
Hendricks, Sensabaugh, Potter, Christopher and Kinsey are starting once again. Really good lineup in my eyes. Micah Potter just addressed the crowd of just a few people at the Maverick Center.
Taylor and Brice came out of the game and Ignite took advantage, stars up 21-20 still
I’m hyped to see it on Jazz+ can’t wait to watch it.
Hendricks with a great interior defensive play and the ignite have avoided attacking him, on Offense they’ve got Holland locked on Hendricks and are making sure him and Brice don’t get the ball, and right as I type this they give Sensabaugh an ounce of space and he drains another 3 from the wing giving him 12 points and extending the lead to 47-35
Hendricks hits his most impressive 3 since the Portland preseason game and the Stars lead 90-62. Just domination led by the rookies and some great play from Kinsey and Christopher among others
If there’s one thing I want Hendricks to develop the most it’s better handles, mainly when he’s attacking the rim
That block was sick by Hendricks.
Does anyone else have stream troubles? Mine keeps lagging every couple of minutes or so.
You guys know how unprecedented it would be for the Utah Jazz to hit on all 3 of their 1st round picks?
Sensabaugh just got two hand shoved out of bounds and the officials are reviewing. Even with a small ignite run SLC is up 98-70, just an incredible showing for the stars
