Look I know we won but I cant help but feel like Sean Payton has completely clamped down on Russ’s play making ability. He is either calling runs or short low percentage dump off passes. I feel like after the first few games he has barely called any deep shots. Just quick pass, low risk plays on the most part.

Is it the O line not holding up for pass plays or the WR’s not getting any separations? Don’t get me wrong, I am not hating on either but I cant shake the feeling of in spite the wins and improved QB play by Russ, something is still feels missing in the passing game. Russ has been clutch when required and has been converting in the redzone but missing those moon balls to Mims which we saw in the early part of the year.

Russ needs those training wheels at this point in his career, unfortunately. He’s just not the same QB physically that he used to be and his decision making is getting slower and slower. Russ made some incredible plays out of structure tonight, but he was barely escaping on those plays and was stopped on many others too.

Which is why his upcoming contract is a major problem and why the Broncos should cut him this offseason. Because Sean Payton shouldn’t have to run a training wheels offense that needs the QB to be a game manager while paying that QB the GDP of a small island nation.
