I’m almost certainly the only person in this sub who cares but I am really excited by the report we are interested in signing Romeo Akachukwu from Waterford in the League of Ireland. Wateford are my local team and the thought of seeing an Irish lad that I’ve watched in person all year moving to a club as big as Arsenal is a bit mad!
There seems to be a number of other clubs interested but fingers crossed we get him lol
Yesterday I saw a clip of Aaron Ramsdale’s dada saying fans shouldn’t be chanting his sons name during Rayas games, which was commendable.
But I saw most of the podcast and what he said about Arteta, it was awful. His dad just put the nail in the coffin. Aarons getting sold soon.
Yeah, he was respectful to Raya but went for Arteta. Congratulations to him for ruining any chance Ramsdale had of winning his place back.
I’ll be surprised if Douglas Luiz doesn’t have some sort of break clause in his new contract. He had a lot of leverage when he signed
Saudis want Sancho and Richarlison but not our players 😭
Always makes me laugh things that footballers say gets no attention at the time of release only to come back up a few months down the line.
Ramsdale’s dad is a melon but let’s be honest, Arteta never should have fed the press that line about having two goalkeepers who would be rotated like other positions. In hindsight it’s the kind of fib that could build more resentment in Ramsdale than had Arteta just owned up to his decision. Rare moment of bad management imo.
Yes, I got no problem with Raya being the No.1, but Arteta doing a whole thing about having two strong keepers with different strengths that would both be important and rotate etc and then it turns out Raya is just gonna be the No.1 is a bit bad imo.
It’s just weird because it has definitely created extra pressure on both of our keepers and it just feels like it could’ve been avoided.
And it’s really sad to see the fanbase completely turning on Ramsdale. He’s not a flawless keeper but he’s definitely been overall good for us and played a huge role in our progress in the last two years.
I’ll never forget when Benjen said that we have virtually no chance of signing Declan Rice
I’ll never forget that Conte 5 month purple patch that caused this sub to meltdown
Why are we pretending loads of people weren’t talking about Ramsdale ADHD at the time of the interview 😂
This GK discourse is killing me man. I don’t even care enough about either to be tribal
Diniz might have a plan for Me and Martinelli
Maybe this is just a hot take and I’m being a moron, but I’ve been thinking - Is Ange’s popularity almost entirely based on the fact that he’s a native English speaker? Australia is so culturally similar to us and they speak the same language so it’s so much easier to be relatable and let your personality shine through in that context.
Similarly, other managers like Arteta and Klopp try using sarcasm and it’s usually a coin flip whether or not someone gets it or thinks they’re being an arrogant, condescending arsehole.
No. do American coaches have an advantage or do they get taken less seriously. He’s just a charismatic person and the underdog. People preferred Arteta and Klopp when they were underdogs too.
Pretty sure if Iraola called people mate we’d like him.
Also, Eddie Howe’s a native English speaker and he’s a colossal ringpiece
Martinelli probably starting for Brazil against Colombia. 4-2-4 with Martinelli on the left-wing and Vini and Rodrygo as the two “strikers”.
Without the ball, the positions would be less fixed, but they defended with a 4-4-2 with Martinelli in the left wing, Raphinha on the right, and Vini and Rodrygo as the two strikers.
I think it will be Vini wide left. Nelli central. Raphinha on the right. And Rodrygo 2nd striker/10 kinda role.
VAR: “I don’t see a specific foul on Gabriel. I see two hands on his back but I don’t see anything of a push that warrants him flying forward like that.”
You know what, fine. But I guarantee all of you, same situation, two different teams, they’ll make a different decision. Inconsistent AF. I dont wanna see any fouls given for two hands on a player while jumping over them from now on, but just wait and see.
My mate forced me to watch an Atalanta game with him 2 days ago and there was one player who caught my eye. I think his name was Scalvini(?) And he’s definitely one to watch. He’s great at carrying the ball and loves to go forward whenever given the chance to progress through midfield. He was really good at reading and intercepting passes. I didn’t realise he was 19 until my mate pointed it out. I feel like he’s gonna move to a big club next summer because for his age he’s a level above
