Hi y’all,

I don’t know anything about technology stuff but I do know he’s been wanting a steam deck for a while.

I have a dumb question, so looking at the new steam deck that is being released, can you upgrade the SSD? Like if I buy the 512 GB, will he be able to buy a part in the future to a 1TB?

Another question, is it worth getting the new steam deck? I know it has upgrades compared to the LCD but I’m not sure if it’s really good or not.

Again, I know nothing about technology so I would appreciate the help :)

    You can upgrade internal ssd to 2tb one. You can put upto 1.5tb microsd card in the microsd slot. The oled is much better than the lcd. Get the 512gb oled model as that comes with glossy display coating while 1tb oled comes with matte coating which is slightly worse.

    Yes you can upgrade the SSD and it takes micro SR cards so no worries there.

    If you can afford to get him the OLED version then you win allllll the points. The LCD model is by no means obsolete as some will have you believe. You just get a slightly less colourful screen, a slightly smaller screen, a bit less battery life and it’s a little bit heavier but by no means uncomfortable.

    They are both great devices just the OLED one is newer and a bit improved.

    I’ll save you time on deciding OLED or lcd … if you can afford n get the OLED … GET IT ! ur bf will be happier with OLED n he won’t have the FOMO madness later on down the road with the lcd version 💯
